The Astrobiome Space Project:

Revolutionizing Human Health to Thrive in Space, showcased at the University of Tokyo

[Houston, Texas, USA, Feb 6, 2023]

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Humanity’s ambition to go to Mars demands greater resilience and breakthroughs in space medicine, specifically in microbiome health. With this vision, Mars City Design and Innovation Labo Tokyo united to launch The Astrobiome Space Project, at the Ito International Research Center at the University of Tokyo on December 4th, 2022, uniting top cross-disciplinary luminaries in science, art, and the culinary industry, including:

Vera Mulyani MA. M.Arch., the CEO and Founder of Astrobiome, Inc. and the creator of Mars City Design innovation platform, is taking the Astrobiome Project to space.

Dr. Marshall Porterfield, the creator of the NASA GeneLab for systems-level integrated omics, a pioneer in mitochondrial biophysics in space, and a Professor of Biological Engineering at Purdue University. Dr. Porterfield will bring his know-how of transcriptomics to the Astrobiome project.

Dr. Bejit Ideas, the lead researcher at Innovation Labo in Japan and a co-Founder of Astrobiome, is a specialist in microbiome  (mitochondria axis science). Dr. Ideas has patented numerous microbiome technology solutions by replicating centenarians’ longevity model and applying it to humans and microbiome farming.

Chef Olivier Chaignon is a Michelin Star Chef who has developed ingredients from Innovation Labo’s first microbiome farming of a thousand year old olive tree. During this event at the University of Tokyo, Chef Chaignon crafted a masterpiece gourmet dish, using the Astrobiome® metabolites that were extracted from the microbiome of the millenium olive tree, to demonstrate a super-food that can offer an immediate source of energy.

The Innovation Labo team includes its President, Dr. Mitzuho Nasu, a pioneer in longevity technologies and the effects of microbiome metabolites on human health. Dr. Nasu is the mind behind the world’s first co-culturing fermentation technology platform that applies a hormesis therapy towards the microbiome.

Today, February 12, 2023 is Darwin’s Day: The Astrobiome® mission is inspired by the Darwin’s theory of evolution. This Astrobiome®’s space project will enable humans to become more resilient in facing the extreme environment of space on the way to Mars, while elevating the standard of humans’ health and longevity on Earth.

This project may lead to a breakthrough in space medicine, microbiome technology, and culinary innovation to realize a greater vision of human evolution, becoming multiplanetary.

The Astrobiome innovation is focused on optimizing human resilience to withstand extreme conditions. Its unique method combines an ancient Japanese savoir-faire of fermentation, to extract a full spectrum super-metabolite complex obtained from co-cultured Lactobaccilus. One application plans to use the environment of space, introducing a unique type of stress to these strains, which may make them selectively adjust their genetic expressions to elevate their biome DNA and endurance. When we consume these metabolites - AKA Astrobiome® postbiotic supplement - we may similarly elevate our epigenetic shifts, empower our mitochondria to perform rapid repair and rejuvenate our cells.

From June 22 to 24, 2023, Mulyani will be presenting the Astrobiome Project at the Dave Asprey’s Biohacking Conference.
