This fashionable Martian landscape inspired scarf is a unique fusion of art and science. Illustrating the Schiaparelli Crater topography study, each pattern of vivid colors indicates the volume of different dominant materials found across the red planet. Presented as part of a global presentation of art, science and architecture by Mars City Design, this incredible series of printed scarves was exhibited at the NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas in 2019 and the Mars City Design GALA Award Ceremony 2019 at the Herman Miller Showroom, Los Angeles.
Vera Mulyani created this wearable art to commemorate NASA’s Perseverance Rover and it's extraordinary landing on Mars. The topography mapping comes via NASA, Hi-SEAS, Arizona State University, and the Planetary Science Institute. Fashion production by Ping Cheng Wald Art.
